When it comes to capturing the precious moments of your newborn’s early days, simplicity and authenticity reign supreme. As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I believe in focusing on what truly matters – the beauty of your baby and the love that surrounds them. Here are three things you don’t need for a successful indoor newborn session:
A Spotless House: Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to have a spotless house for a successful newborn photoshoot. In fact, I encourage moms to leave the house as is. After all, you’ve just welcomed a new member into your family, and the last thing you should be worrying about is cleaning your entire home. During our session, I typically utilize the two best rooms with access to natural light, and I can easily move any items around to create the perfect backdrop for your photos.
A Studio Setting: Unlike traditional studio sessions, my approach to newborn photography takes place in the comfort of your own home. This not only creates a more intimate and memorable experience for your family but also provides convenience for both you and your baby. Whether you need to take a break for feeding or changing, you can do so in the familiar surroundings of your own space.
Props: While props can add a cute touch to newborn photos, they’re not essential for capturing the true essence of your baby. When I look at a newborn, I see perfection in their pure simplicity. Wrapping them up like a burrito or placing them in elaborate setups may look adorable, but it doesn’t always reflect the authentic beauty of your baby. By keeping the focus on your newborn and their natural surroundings, we can capture the genuine moments and details that make them truly special.
By focusing on the essentials and embracing the natural beauty of your home, we can create beautiful newborn photoshoots that authentically reflect the innocence and beauty of your precious baby. If you’re ready to document this special time in your family’s life, I’d love to chat more about scheduling your indoor newborn session.
